Role Overview
PetSmart's Part-Time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) engages pet parents and cares for store pets in Danvers, MA. Uphold our vision of pet safety, store cleanliness, and outstanding service across in-person, phone, online, and register interactions. Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays is key in this dynamic retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional pet parent experiences and answer questions throughout the store.
- Prepare online orders and ensure smooth pick-up processes.
- Provide direct care for store-owned pets: feed, water, clean habitats (birds, reptiles, fish, small animals), and administer vet-directed medications.
- Maintain cleanliness, face/fill products, stage merchandise, and support pricing/promotions.
- Recommend products/services/live pets, promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Ensure safety for associates, pets, and customers; respond immediately to sick/injured pets.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—pet passion is essential! Strong communication, composure under pressure, and physical stamina (lifting 50+ lbs, standing, climbing, animal handling) are vital. Thrive in moderate-to-high noise, wet environments with pet hair, and mechanical exposure.
