Role Overview
Our Part-Time Retail Sales Associates (Pet Associates) are the heart of the store, delivering exceptional pet parent experiences, maintaining pet safety standards, and keeping our stores spotless. Located in Danville, Virginia, this entry-level role offers flexible hours perfect for pet enthusiasts eager to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent satisfaction through greetings, question-answering, online order prep, and seamless checkouts.
- Provide hands-on care for store pets: feeding, watering, habitat cleaning (birds, reptiles, fish, small animals), and vet-directed medications.
- Execute merchandising tasks like product staging, facing, filling, recovery, price changes, and promotional setups.
- Sell merchandise, services, and live pets; promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Maintain safety for associates, pets, and customers; respond to sick/injured pets and assist across all store areas.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required – just a love for pets! We seek strong communicators who stay composed under pressure, handle physical demands (lifting 50+ lbs, standing, climbing, animal exposure), and embrace our culture of belonging. Flexibility is key in our dynamic retail environment.
