Role Overview
Our Part-Time Retail Sales Associates are the heart of the store, delivering exceptional pet parent experiences while upholding our vision of pet safety, cleanliness, and outstanding service. This entry-level role involves direct pet care, sales, merchandising, and store operations in a dynamic retail setting surrounded by birds, reptiles, fish, and small animals.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent satisfaction through greetings, question-answering, online order prep, and seamless checkouts.
- Provide hands-on care for store-owned pets: feeding, watering, habitat cleaning, medication administration, and emergency vet transport.
- Execute merchandising tasks like product staging, facing, filling, recovery, price changes, and promotional setups.
- Recommend products, services, live pets, and promote events like adoption weekends and Treats enrollment.
- Maintain a safe, clean store environment and assist across departments including services.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required – just a love for pets! We seek strong communicators who stay composed under pressure, offer scheduling flexibility (evenings, weekends, holidays), and meet physical demands: lifting 50+ lbs, climbing ladders, standing/walking extensively, and handling live animals in a moderate-to-noisy, pet-hair-filled space. Depth perception and team lifting for heavier items are essential.
