Role Overview
As a Part-Time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) in Delray Beach, Florida, you'll engage pet parents, care for store pets, and maintain a welcoming store environment. This entry-level role offers flexible scheduling and empowers you to deliver exceptional experiences while upholding PetSmart's vision for pet happiness.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver outstanding pet parent experiences in-person, phone, register, and online.
- Provide direct care for store-owned pets: feeding, cleaning habitats (birds, reptiles, fish, small animals), and administering vet-directed medications.
- Maintain store cleanliness, execute price changes, stock shelves, and recover merchandise to standards.
- Recommend products, services, live pets, and promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Ensure safety for associates, pets, and customers; respond to sick/injured pets immediately.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—pet passion is key! Must have strong communication, flexibility for evenings/weekends/holidays, composure under pressure, and physical stamina to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, and handle live animals in a dynamic environment with moderate noise and pet hair.
