Role Overview
As a Part-Time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) at PetSmart in Dickinson, TX, you'll engage pet parents, care for live animals, and maintain a welcoming store. This entry-level role offers flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays while making a daily impact.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver outstanding pet parent experiences in-person, online, and at checkout. Provide direct care for store pets—feeding, cleaning habitats (fish, birds, reptiles, small animals), and administering vet-directed medications. Keep the store spotless, stock merchandise, handle price changes, and promote events like adoption weekends. Ensure safety for pets, associates, and customers, reacting swiftly to any pet health issues.
Daily Tasks Include:
- Greet customers and prepare online pickups
- Recommend products, services, and pets
- Face and recover sales floor
- Team lift up to 100+ lbs as needed
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—pet passion is key! Must have strong communication, schedule flexibility, and composure under pressure. Physical demands: stand/walk extensively, lift 50 lbs frequently, climb ladders, work in noisy/wet environments with animals. Depth perception and animal handling comfort essential.
