Role Overview
Our Part-Time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) delivers exceptional pet parent experiences while caring for store pets and maintaining a clean, safe environment. This entry-level role is perfect for animal lovers with flexible availability, offering hands-on pet care, customer engagement, and retail operations in a dynamic store setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent satisfaction through greetings, question-answering, online order prep, and seamless checkouts.
- Provide direct care for birds, reptiles, small animals, fish, and habitats – including feeding, cleaning, and vet-directed medications.
- Stock shelves, face products, recover sales floor, and support pricing/promotions.
- Recommend products, services, live pets, and promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Ensure safety by monitoring pets, taking action on illnesses/injuries, and maintaining cleanliness standards.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required – just a love for pets! We seek strong communicators who thrive under pressure, with schedule flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing/walking, ladder use, and exposure to animals, pet hair, and moderate noise. Depth perception and composure are key.
