Role Overview
Our part-time Retail Sales Associates (Pet Associates) are the heart of the store, delivering exceptional pet parent experiences, maintaining cleanliness, and providing direct care for our live pets. Based in Dublin, California, this entry-level role offers flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays in a dynamic pet retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent satisfaction through in-person, phone, register, and online interactions.
- Care for store-owned pets: feed, water, clean habitats (birds, reptiles, fish, small animals), and administer vet-directed medications.
- Stock shelves, face products, handle price changes, and promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Ensure store safety, cleanliness, and pet health—transport sick pets to vets as needed.
- Recommend merchandise, services, and live pets to boost sales.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required, but pet lovers thrive here! You need strong communication, schedule flexibility, composure under pressure, and physical stamina to lift 50 lbs (team lift 100+ lbs), climb ladders, and work in a pet-filled environment with moderate noise and occasional wet/hairy conditions. Depth perception and animal handling are key.
