Role Overview

As a Part-Time Retail Sales Associate in Dubuque, Iowa, you'll be the friendly face welcoming pet parents and their furry friends. This entry-level role combines customer service, pet care, and store operations to deliver outstanding experiences while upholding PetSmart's commitment to pet safety and satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive pet parent satisfaction through in-person, phone, register, and online interactions, answering questions and preparing orders.
• Provide direct care for store-owned pets: feed, water, clean habitats for birds, reptiles, small animals, fish, and crickets; administer vet-directed medications.
• Maintain pristine store standards by facing/filling products, staging merchandise, and supporting price changes/promotions.
• Sell merchandise, services, and live pets while promoting events like adoption weekends and Treats enrollment.
• Ensure safety for associates, pets, and customers; respond immediately to sick/injured pets including vet transport.

Experience & Skills

Required Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills (written/verbal).
• Schedule flexibility for evenings, weekends, holidays.
• Composure under pressure and passion for pets.

Physical Demands

Stand/walk extensively, lift 50 lbs frequently (team lift 100+ lbs), climb ladders, handle animals in a dynamic environment with moderate noise and pet hair.
