Role Overview
As a Part-Time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) at our Duncan store, you'll deliver exceptional pet parent experiences, care for live animals, and maintain a welcoming store environment. This entry-level role suits animal enthusiasts ready to engage customers, handle pets, and contribute to store success. Flexible hours include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent satisfaction through greetings, question-answering, online order prep, and sales at register.
- Provide hands-on care for store pets: feed, water, clean habitats (fish, birds, reptiles, small animals), and administer vet-directed medications.
- Execute merchandising tasks: face/fill products, stage new items, support price changes and promotions.
- Promote events like adoption weekends, Treats enrollment, and charity drives; recommend products and services.
- Maintain safety and cleanliness standards; respond immediately to sick/injured pets, transporting to vet if needed.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—pet passion is key! We seek strong communicators who thrive under pressure, with flexibility for varied shifts. Physical demands include lifting 50 lbs (team lift 100+ lbs), standing/walking, ladder use, and animal exposure in a moderate-noise, pet-hair-filled environment. Depth perception and composure essential.
