Role Overview
As a Part-Time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) in East Hanover, New Jersey, you'll engage pet parents and pets, deliver exceptional service, maintain store standards, and provide direct pet care. This entry-level role supports our vision of doing Anything for Pets in a dynamic retail environment with live animals and services.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent satisfaction in-person, phone, register, and online order pickups.
- Care for store-owned pets: feed, water, clean habitats (birds, reptiles, small animals, fish), and administer vet-directed medications.
- Stock shelves, face products, execute price changes, and maintain cleanliness/safety.
- Sell merchandise, services, live pets, and promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Handle emergencies like sick pets, team lift heavy items, and assist across store areas.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—pet passion is key! Need strong communication, schedule flexibility (evenings/weekends/holidays), composure under pressure, and physical stamina (lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, handle animals in noisy/wet conditions). Vision for depth perception essential.
