Role Overview
As a Part-Time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) in East Wenatchee, Washington, you'll engage with pet parents and their pets, provide exceptional service, maintain store standards, and care for live animals. This entry-level role offers flexibility, hands-on pet interaction, and a chance to make a meaningful impact daily—whether helping select a first fish or celebrating a pet's birthday.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver outstanding pet parent experiences in-person, phone, register, and online; greet customers and prepare pick-up orders.
- Provide direct care for store-owned pets: feed, water, clean habitats (birds, reptiles, small animals, fish), administer vet-directed medications, and respond to sick/injured pets.
- Merchandise products: face/fill/recover shelves, stage new items, support price changes and promotions.
- Recommend products, services, live pets; promote events like adoption weekends and Treats enrollment.
- Maintain cleanliness, safety for associates/pets/customers; assist across store areas including services.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—pet passion is key! We seek strong communicators with schedule flexibility (evenings, weekends, holidays), composure under pressure, and physical capability to stand, lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders, and handle animals in a moderate-noise, pet-hair-filled environment. Depth perception and team-lifting for heavier items needed.
