Role Overview

As a Part-Time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) in our Edmonton, Alberta store, you'll deliver outstanding pet parent experiences, care for live animals, and maintain a welcoming store environment. This entry-level role suits animal lovers ready to engage customers, handle pets, and support retail operations in a dynamic pet retail setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional service to pet parents in-person, phone, register, and online; prepare pickup orders.
• Care for store pets: feed, water, clean habitats (birds, reptiles, fish, small animals), administer vet-directed meds.
• Maintain cleanliness, stock shelves, face products, execute price changes, and recover sales floor.
• Recommend products, services, live pets; promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
• Ensure safety for associates, pets, and customers; respond to sick/injured pets and transport to vet if needed.

Experience & Skills

No prior experience required—pet passion is key! We seek strong communicators with schedule flexibility (evenings, weekends, holidays), composure under pressure, and physical stamina to lift 50 lbs (team lift 100+ lbs), climb ladders, and work in pet-filled environments. Exposure to animals, moderate noise, and wet areas is common.
