Role Overview
As a Part-Time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) in Elkton, MD, you'll engage pet parents and pets, deliver positive experiences, and uphold our vision. Share store maintenance, cleanliness, and direct pet care responsibilities in a dynamic retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent satisfaction in-person, phone, register, and online order pickups.
- Care for store pets: feed, water, clean habitats (birds, reptiles, small animals, fish), administer vet-directed meds.
- Maintain cleanliness, stock shelves, face products, handle price changes and merchandising.
- Sell merchandise, services, live pets; promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Ensure safety for associates, pets, parents; respond to sick pets and transport to vet if needed.
- Flex across store areas, follow policies, embrace Belonging culture.
Experience & Skills
Entry-level role welcoming pet lovers. Need strong communication, schedule flexibility (evenings/weekends/holidays), composure under pressure. Physically demanding: lift 50lbs (team lift 100+), stand/walk/climb, handle animals in moderate noise/wet/hairy conditions. Depth perception required.
