Role Overview
Our part-time Retail Sales Associates (Pet Associates) deliver exceptional pet parent experiences while maintaining store standards and providing direct pet care. Located in Escondido, California, this entry-level role offers flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays in a dynamic pet retail setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent satisfaction through greetings, question-answering, online order prep, and sales at register.
- Manage pet healthcare: feed, water, clean habitats for birds, reptiles, small animals, fish; administer vet-directed meds.
- Uphold cleanliness, face/fill products, stage merchandise, and support pricing/promotions.
- Recommend products/services/live pets, promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Ensure safety for associates, pets, parents; respond to sick/injured pets and assist across store areas.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required – pet passion is key! Need strong communication, schedule flexibility, composure under pressure, and physical stamina (lift 50lbs, climb ladders, handle animals in moderate noise/wet environments). Depth perception and team lifting for heavier items essential.
