Role Overview
Our part-time Retail Sales Associates (Pet Associates) deliver exceptional pet parent experiences while maintaining store standards and caring for live pets. This entry-level role offers flexibility, hands-on pet interaction, and opportunities to advance in pet retail.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent satisfaction through greetings, question-answering, online order prep, and seamless checkouts.
- Provide direct care for store pets: feed, water, clean habitats (fish, birds, reptiles, small animals), administer vet-directed meds, and respond to health issues.
- Execute merchandising: face/fill products, stage new items, handle price changes, and maintain cleanliness/safety.
- Sell merchandise, services, and live pets; promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Collaborate across store areas, follow policies, and foster a culture of belonging.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required – pet passion is key! We seek strong communicators who thrive under pressure, offer scheduling flexibility (evenings/weekends/holidays), and meet physical demands: lifting 50+ lbs, standing/walking, ladder use, animal handling in moderate-noise/wet environments. Depth perception and composure essential.
