Role Overview
As a Part-Time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) in Fairfield, California, you'll deliver exceptional experiences for pet parents and their pets. This entry-level role involves customer engagement, pet care, store maintenance, and sales, in a dynamic environment with live animals. Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays is key. Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent satisfaction through in-person, phone, register, and online interactions, including online order prep.
- Provide hands-on care for store pets: feed, water, clean habitats (birds, reptiles, small animals, fish), and administer vet-directed meds.
- Execute merchandising: face/fill products, stage new items, handle price changes, and maintain cleanliness/safety standards.
- Sell merchandise, services, live pets; promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Respond to pet health issues, ensure safe environment, and assist across store areas including services.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—pet passion is a plus! Must have strong communication, composure under pressure, and physical stamina (lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, stand/walk extensively). Comfort with live animals, moderate noise, pet hair, and wet environments essential. Specific vision for depth perception needed.
