Role Overview
As a Part-Time Retail Sales Associate in Florissant, Missouri, you'll engage pet parents and care for store pets, ensuring positive experiences while maintaining store standards. This entry-level role offers flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays, with opportunities to advance in pet retail.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional pet parent experiences in-person, phone, register, and online order pickups.
- Provide direct care for store pets: feeding, watering, cleaning habitats (birds, reptiles, fish, small animals), and administering vet-directed medications.
- Maintain cleanliness, stock shelves, face products, handle price changes, and promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Recommend products, services, and live pets; ensure safety by addressing sick/injured pets promptly.
- Assist across store areas, follow policies, and contribute to a culture of belonging.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—pet passion is key! Need strong communication, flexibility, composure under pressure, and physical stamina (lift 50 lbs, stand/walk extensively, handle animals in moderate noise/wet environments). Ladder climbing and team lifts for heavier items common.
