Role Overview
As a Part-Time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) in Fontana, California, you'll engage pet parents and pets, deliver positive experiences, and uphold our vision. Share in store maintenance, pet safety, and direct pet care. Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays required in this dynamic retail environment.
Essential Physical Demands
Stand, walk, climb ladders, lift up to 50 lbs (team lift 100+ lbs), handle animals in moderate noise with pet hair exposure. Depth perception needed; reasonable accommodations available.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent experience in-person, phone, register, and online; greet and answer questions.
- Prepare online orders and ensure smooth pick-ups.
- Provide pet healthcare: feed, water, clean habitats (birds, reptiles, small animals, fish).
- Maintain cleanliness, face/fill products, stage new merchandise, support pricing/promotions.
- Sell merchandise/services/live pets, promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Ensure safety for associates, pets, parents; handle sick pets and transport to vet as needed.
Experience & Skills
Entry-level role welcoming pet lovers. Need strong communication, composure under pressure, schedule flexibility. Pet care experience a plus; training provided. Follow company policies while participating in our inclusive culture.
