Role Overview
As a Part-Time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate), you'll engage pet parents, care for store pets, and maintain an exceptional store environment. This entry-level role offers flexibility and the chance to make a daily impact in a fun, pet-loving atmosphere.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver outstanding pet parent experiences in-person, phone, register, and online.
- Provide direct care for store pets: feeding, cleaning habitats (birds, reptiles, fish, small animals), and administering vet-directed medications.
- Maintain store cleanliness, stock shelves, face products, and support pricing/promotions.
- Recommend products, services, live pets, and promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Ensure safety for associates, pets, and customers; respond immediately to sick/injured pets.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required. We seek pet enthusiasts with strong communication skills, schedule flexibility (evenings, weekends, holidays), and composure under pressure. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing/walking, ladder use, and animal handling in a moderate-noise, pet-hair environment.
