Role Overview

PetSmart's Part-Time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) delivers outstanding pet parent experiences, maintains store standards, and provides direct care for in-store pets. Based in Fort Worth, Texas, this entry-level role involves customer engagement, merchandising, and pet health responsibilities in a dynamic retail setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive pet parent satisfaction through in-person, phone, register, and online interactions.
• Care for store-owned pets: feed, water, clean habitats (birds, reptiles, fish, small animals), and administer vet-directed medications.
• Stock shelves, face products, handle price changes, and prepare online orders.
• Promote events like adoptions, Treats enrollment, and charity drives; recommend products and services.
• Maintain cleanliness, safety, and respond to pet health emergencies by transporting to vets as needed.

Experience & Skills

No prior experience required—pet passion is key! We seek strong communicators with schedule flexibility (evenings, weekends, holidays), composure under pressure, and physical stamina to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, and handle animals in a moderate-noise, pet-hair-filled environment. Vision for depth perception and team lifting for heavier items required.
