Role Overview
PetSmart's Part-Time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) delivers outstanding pet parent experiences, maintains store standards, and provides direct pet care. Based in Fort Worth, Texas, this entry-level role involves customer engagement, merchandising, and ensuring pet safety in a dynamic retail setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent satisfaction through greetings, question-answering, online order prep, and register support.
- Manage pet healthcare: feed, water, clean habitats for birds, reptiles, small animals, fish, and crickets; administer vet-directed meds.
- Uphold cleanliness, face/fill products, stage merchandise, and support pricing/promotions.
- Sell merchandise, services, live pets, and promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Ensure safety for associates, pets, and customers; handle sick/injured pets and transport to vet as needed.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—pet passion is key! Must have strong communication, schedule flexibility (evenings/weekends/holidays), composure under pressure, and physical stamina to lift 50 lbs (team lift 100+ lbs), climb ladders, and work in pet-filled environments.
