Role Overview
As a Part-Time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate), you'll engage pet parents and their pets, deliver exceptional service, and maintain store standards. This entry-level role shares pet care duties, sales, and operations in a dynamic retail setting. Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays required. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, handling animals, and working in pet hair-filled spaces.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent satisfaction via in-person, phone, register, and online interactions; prepare pickup orders.
- Provide direct care for store pets: feed, water, clean habitats (fish, birds, reptiles, small animals), administer vet-directed meds, and respond to sick pets.
- Execute merchandising: face/fill products, stage new items, handle price changes/promotions.
- Recommend products, services, live pets; promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Ensure safety, cleanliness, and compliance with company policies across store areas.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—pet passion is key! Must have strong communication, composure under pressure, and physical stamina (standing, lifting, climbing). Comfort with live animals, moderate noise, and wet environments essential. We're an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to diversity.
