Role Overview
As a Part-Time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) in our Gilroy, CA store, you'll engage pet parents, care for live animals, and maintain a welcoming store environment. This entry-level role offers flexibility, weekly pay, and paths to advancement in pet retail.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver outstanding pet parent experiences in-person, phone, register, and online order pickups.
- Provide daily care for store pets: feeding, watering, cleaning habitats (birds, reptiles, fish, small animals), and administering vet-directed medications.
- Drive sales by recommending products, services, live pets, and promoting events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Stock shelves, face products, execute price changes, and uphold cleanliness and safety standards.
- Respond swiftly to pet health issues, transport to vet if needed, and assist across all store areas.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—pet passion is key! We seek strong communicators with schedule flexibility (evenings, weekends, holidays), composure under pressure, and physical stamina to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, and handle animals in a dynamic environment with moderate noise and pet hair.
