Role Overview
As a Part-Time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate), you'll engage pet parents, care for store pets, and maintain a welcoming store. This entry-level role offers flexibility, pet interaction, and paths to advancement in a fun retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional pet parent experiences in-person, phone, register, and online.
- Care for store-owned pets: feed, water, clean habitats (birds, reptiles, fish, small animals), and administer vet-directed medications.
- Stock shelves, face products, execute price changes, and prepare online orders.
- Promote merchandise, services, live pets, and events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Maintain cleanliness, safety standards, and respond to pet health issues promptly.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required. Ideal candidates have strong communication, flexibility for evenings/weekends/holidays, composure under pressure, and physical stamina (lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, handle animals). Passion for pets is key.
Physical Demands & Environment
Expect standing, walking, lifting, exposure to pet hair, noise, and live animals. Team lifts for heavier items.
