Role Overview
As a Part-Time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate), you'll engage pet parents and their pets, deliver exceptional service, and maintain store standards. This entry-level role involves customer interactions, pet care, merchandising, and ensuring a safe, clean environment. Ideal for animal lovers seeking rewarding retail work.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide outstanding pet parent experiences in-person, phone, register, and online order pickups.
- Care for store-owned pets: feed, water, clean habitats (birds, reptiles, small animals, fish), administer vet-directed medications.
- Maintain store cleanliness, face/fill products, stage new merchandise, and support price changes/promotions.
- Recommend and sell merchandise, services, live pets; promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Ensure safety for associates, pets, parents; respond to sick/injured pets and assist across store areas.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—pet passion is key! Must have strong communication, schedule flexibility (evenings/weekends/holidays), composure under pressure. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing/walking, ladder use, animal handling in moderate-noise, pet-hair environment. Reasonable accommodations available.
