Role Overview
As a Part-Time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) in Guelph, you'll engage pet parents, care for store pets, and maintain an exceptional store environment. This entry-level role supports sales, pet health, and operations, perfect for animal lovers seeking rewarding retail work.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver outstanding pet parent experiences in-person, phone, register, and online order pickups.
- Provide direct care for store-owned pets: feeding, watering, cleaning habitats (birds, reptiles, fish, small animals), and administering vet-directed medications.
- Maintain store cleanliness, execute price changes, stock shelves, and recover sales floor to standards.
- Recommend products, services, and live pets; promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Ensure safety for associates, pets, and customers; respond to sick/injured pets and transport to vet as needed.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—pet passion is key! Must have strong communication, flexibility for evenings/weekends/holidays, composure under pressure, and physical stamina (lifting 50lbs+, standing, climbing). Comfort handling live animals in a dynamic retail setting with moderate noise and pet hair.
