Role Overview
As a Part-Time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) in Hadley, Massachusetts, you'll engage pet parents, care for store pets, and maintain a welcoming store environment. This entry-level role offers flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays while making a daily impact on pets' lives.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional pet parent experiences in-person, phone, register, and online order pickups.
- Provide direct care for store-owned pets: feed, water, clean habitats (birds, reptiles, small animals, fish), and administer vet-directed medications.
- Maintain store cleanliness, stock products, face shelves, and support price changes/promotions.
- Recommend and sell merchandise, services, live pets, and promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Ensure safety for associates, pets, and customers; respond to sick/injured pets by transporting to vet.
Experience & Skills
Required Qualifications
- Strong communication skills (written/verbal).
- Schedule flexibility for evenings, weekends, holidays.
- Composure under pressure.
Physical Demands
Stand/walk extensively, lift 50lbs frequently/team lift 100lbs+, climb ladders, handle animals in moderate noise/wet environments with pet hair. Depth perception required; accommodations available.
