Role Overview
As a Part-Time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) in Hampton, Virginia, you'll engage pet parents, care for store pets, and maintain a clean, safe environment. This entry-level role offers flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays, perfect for animal lovers seeking rewarding retail work.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional pet parent experiences in-person, phone, register, and online.
- Care for store-owned pets: feed, water, clean habitats (birds, reptiles, fish, small animals), and administer vet-directed medications.
- Maintain store cleanliness, stock shelves, face products, and support price changes/promotions.
- Recommend products, services, live pets, and promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Ensure safety for associates, pets, and customers; handle sick/injured pets promptly.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required. We seek strong communicators with schedule flexibility, composure under pressure, and physical stamina (lifting 50+ lbs, standing, climbing). Passion for pets and retail enthusiasm are key. Physical demands include handling animals, wet environments, and moderate noise.
