Role Overview
As a Part-Time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) in Hickory, North Carolina, you'll engage pet parents, care for store pets, and maintain a clean, safe environment. This entry-level role offers flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays while making a daily impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional pet parent experiences in-person, phone, register, and online orders.
- Care for birds, reptiles, small animals, fish, and habitats including feeding, cleaning, and medications.
- Stock shelves, face products, execute price changes, and promote events like adoptions.
- Ensure store safety, cleanliness, and immediate action on sick/injured pets.
- Recommend merchandise, services, and live pets while supporting all store areas.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required. We seek pet lovers with strong communication, flexibility, composure under pressure, and physical stamina to lift 50 lbs (team lift 100+ lbs). Comfort in pet-filled environments with moderate noise and occasional wet/hairy conditions.
