Role Overview
As a Part-Time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) in Holmdel, New Jersey, you'll engage pet parents and their pets, deliver exceptional experiences, and uphold our vision for pet care. Share in store maintenance, cleanliness, and direct pet care while promoting services and events. Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays is key in this dynamic retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent satisfaction in-person, phone, register, and online; greet, answer questions, prepare pick-up orders.
- Provide pet healthcare: feed, water, clean habitats for birds, reptiles, small animals, fish; administer vet-directed meds.
- Maintain store standards: cleanliness, merchandising, price changes, product stocking and recovery.
- Sell merchandise, services, live pets; promote adoption events, Treats enrollment, charity drives.
- Ensure safety for associates, pets, parents; respond to sick/injured pets, transport to vet if needed.
Experience & Skills
Required Qualifications
- Strong communication skills (written/verbal).
- Schedule flexibility for evenings, weekends, holidays.
- Composure under pressure.
Physical Demands
Stand/walk extensively, lift 50 lbs (team lift 100+ lbs), climb ladders, handle animals in moderate-noise, wet, pet-hair environment. Depth perception required; accommodations available.
