Role Overview
Our Pet Associates are the heart of the store, delivering outstanding pet parent experiences while upholding our vision of pet safety, cleanliness, and service excellence. This part-time role in Honolulu, HI, involves customer engagement, pet care, and store operations in a dynamic retail environment filled with live animals and vibrant energy.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional service to pet parents in-person, phone, register, and online order pickups.
- Care for store-owned pets: feed, water, clean habitats (birds, reptiles, fish, small animals), and administer vet-directed medications.
- Maintain store cleanliness, execute price changes, stock products, and recover sales floor.
- Recommend merchandise, services, and live pets; promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Ensure safety by addressing sick/injured pets immediately and fostering a secure environment.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required – pet passion is key! We seek strong communicators who thrive under pressure, with schedule flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, climbing, and handling animals in a moderate-noise, pet-hair-filled setting. Depth perception and composure are essential.
