Role Overview
As a Part-Time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate), you'll engage pet parents, care for store pets, and maintain a welcoming store environment. This entry-level role offers flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays while making a daily impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional pet parent experiences in-person, phone, register, and online order pickups.
- Provide direct care for store-owned pets: feeding, watering, cleaning habitats (birds, reptiles, fish, small animals), and administering vet-directed medications.
- Maintain store cleanliness, execute price changes, stock shelves, and recover sales floor to standards.
- Recommend products, services, live pets; promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Ensure safety for associates, pets, and customers; respond to sick/injured pets with vet transport as needed.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required. We seek pet lovers with strong communication, flexibility, and composure under pressure. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing/walking, ladder use, and exposure to animals, pet hair, and moderate noise.
