Role Overview
Our Part-Time Retail Sales Associates (Pet Associates) deliver exceptional pet parent experiences in Houston, TX. You'll engage customers, care for live pets, maintain store standards, and support sales across services. This entry-level role offers flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays, with physical demands including lifting up to 50 lbs and handling animals in a dynamic retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent satisfaction through greetings, question-answering, online order prep, and seamless checkouts.
- Provide hands-on care for store pets: feeding, habitat cleaning, medication administration, and vet transport if needed.
- Execute merchandising tasks like product facing, recovery, pricing updates, and sales floor planning.
- Recommend products, services, and live pets while promoting events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Ensure safety, cleanliness, and compliance with all policies in a pet-filled, moderate-noise setting.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required – just a pet-loving attitude! Must have strong communication, schedule flexibility, composure under pressure, and physical stamina for standing, lifting, climbing, and animal exposure. Depth perception and teamwork are key in our fast-paced store.
