Role Overview
As a Part-Time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) in Howell, MI, you'll engage pet parents, care for live animals, and maintain a welcoming store. This entry-level role offers flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays, with hands-on pet interaction and customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional pet parent experiences in-person, phone, register, and online order pickups.
- Provide direct care for store pets: feed, water, clean habitats (birds, reptiles, fish, small animals), and administer vet-directed medications.
- Stock shelves, face products, execute price changes, and promote merchandise, services, events, and adoptions.
- Maintain cleanliness, safety standards, and respond immediately to sick/injured pets.
- Assist across store areas including services as needed.
Experience & Skills
No experience required. We seek pet lovers with strong communication, flexibility, and composure under pressure. Physical demands include lifting 50 lbs (team lift 100+ lbs), standing, climbing, and handling animals in a moderate-noise, pet-hair-filled environment.
