Role Overview
PetSmart's Part-Time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) engages pet parents, upholds pet safety, and maintains store standards in Huntington Beach, CA. This entry-level role offers flexible hours, evenings/weekends/holidays, and hands-on pet care in a dynamic retail setting.
Essential Physical Demands
Stand, walk, lift 50+ lbs (team lift 100+ lbs), climb ladders, handle animals. Exposed to pet hair, noise, wet areas, and mechanical parts. Reasonable accommodations available.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional pet parent experiences in-person, phone, register, and online.
- Care for store pets: feed, water, clean habitats (fish, birds, reptiles, small animals), administer vet-directed meds.
- Stock shelves, face products, execute price changes, and prepare online pickups.
- Promote merchandise, services, live pets, events (adoptions, Treats enrollment).
- Maintain cleanliness, safety; respond to sick pets by transporting to vet.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required. Ideal candidates have strong communication, composure under pressure, pet passion, and physical stamina. Flexibility for variable shifts essential.
