Role Overview
As a Part-Time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate), you'll engage pet parents, care for store pets, and maintain a welcoming store environment. This entry-level role offers flexibility and impact in pet retail.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional pet parent experiences in-person, phone, register, and online.
- Provide direct care for store pets: feeding, cleaning habitats (birds, reptiles, fish, small animals), and administering vet-directed medications.
- Handle store operations: stock products, face shelves, execute price changes, and prepare online orders.
- Promote sales, services, events like adoptions, and ensure safety for pets, associates, and customers.
- Maintain cleanliness and assist across departments as needed.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required. Ideal candidates have strong communication, flexibility for evenings/weekends/holidays, composure under pressure, and physical stamina (lifting 50+ lbs, standing, handling animals). Passion for pets is key.
Physical Demands
Expect standing, walking, lifting, ladder use, and exposure to pets, noise, and wet areas. Reasonable accommodations available.
