Role Overview
Our part-time Pet Associates drive exceptional pet parent experiences, maintain store standards, and provide direct care for in-store pets. This entry-level role in Killeen offers flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays, with opportunities to work across sales, services, and pet care in a dynamic retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver outstanding service in-person, online, phone, and at checkout; greet customers and prepare pick-up orders.
- Handle pet healthcare: feed, water, clean habitats for birds, reptiles, fish, and small animals; administer vet-directed meds.
- Stock shelves, face products, execute price changes, and maintain cleanliness/safety standards.
- Recommend products, services, live pets; promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Respond to pet emergencies, ensure safe environment, and assist store-wide as needed.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required – just a pet passion! Must have strong communication, flexibility for variable shifts, composure under pressure, and physical stamina to lift 50 lbs (team lift 100+ lbs), climb ladders, and handle animals in a moderate-noise, pet-hair-filled setting. Vision for depth perception needed.
