Role Overview
As a Part-Time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) in our Kingston store, you'll deliver outstanding pet parent experiences, care for live animals, and keep our store sparkling. This entry-level role suits animal lovers ready to thrive in a fast-paced retail environment with evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent satisfaction through greetings, questions, online order prep, and seamless checkouts.
- Provide hands-on care for store pets: feed, water, clean habitats (fish, birds, reptiles, small animals), and administer vet-directed meds.
- Maintain merchandising standards: face/fill products, stage new items, handle price changes/promotions.
- Promote sales, services, events like adoptions and Treats program, ensuring safety for all.
- Respond to pet health issues, transport to vet if needed, and support all store areas.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—pet passion is key! You need strong communication, schedule flexibility, composure under pressure, and physical stamina (lifting 50lbs+, standing, climbing, animal exposure). Thrive in moderate noise, wet/pet hair environments with depth perception for safety.
