Role Overview

As a Part-Time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) at our Kitchener store, you'll engage pet parents and pets, uphold company values, maintain store standards, and provide direct pet care. This entry-level role offers flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays, with physical demands including lifting up to 50 lbs and exposure to live animals.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional pet parent experiences in-person, phone, register, and online; greet, answer questions, prepare pick-up orders.
• Manage pet healthcare: feed, water, clean habitats (birds, reptiles, small animals, fish); administer vet-directed medications; respond to sick pets.
• Ensure store cleanliness, face/fill products, stage new merchandise, support price changes and promotions.
• Recommend/sell merchandise, services, live pets; promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
• Maintain safe environment for associates, pets, and customers; assist across store areas including services.

Experience & Skills

No prior experience required—pet passion is key! Must have strong communication, schedule flexibility, composure under pressure, and physical stamina (standing, lifting, climbing, animal handling). Specific vision for depth perception; reasonable accommodations available.
