Role Overview
Our part-time Pet Associates drive exceptional pet parent experiences while upholding store standards for cleanliness, pet safety, and operations. This entry-level role suits animal lovers with flexible availability, offering hands-on pet care, sales, and customer service in a dynamic retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver outstanding in-person, phone, register, and online customer service.
- Provide direct care for store pets: feed, water, clean habitats (birds, reptiles, fish, small animals), and administer vet-directed medications.
- Maintain store cleanliness, stock shelves, face products, and support price changes/promotions.
- Recommend products, services, live pets, and promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Ensure safety for associates, pets, and customers; respond immediately to sick/injured pets.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required – pet passion is key! Must have strong communication, flexibility for evenings/weekends/holidays, composure under pressure, and physical stamina (lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, handle animals in moderate noise/wet environments). Depth perception and team lifting for heavier items needed.
