Role Overview
Our Part-Time Retail Sales Associates (Pet Associates) deliver exceptional pet parent experiences, care for store pets, and maintain a clean, safe store environment. This entry-level role offers flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays, with opportunities to grow into leadership positions.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent satisfaction through greetings, questions, online order prep, and sales recommendations.
- Provide hands-on care for birds, reptiles, small animals, fish, and habitats – including feeding, cleaning, and vet-directed medications.
- Execute merchandising tasks: stock products, face shelves, handle price changes, and promote events like adoptions.
- Ensure safety for associates, pets, and customers; respond to sick pets and maintain cleanliness standards.
- Support all store areas, follow policies, and participate in our culture of belonging.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required – just a passion for pets! Must have strong communication, flexibility in scheduling, composure under pressure, and physical stamina to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in pet-filled environments. Specific vision for depth perception needed.
