Role Overview
As a Part-Time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) at PetSmart, you'll engage pet parents and their pets while upholding our vision, mission, values, and strategy. Share responsibility for store cleanliness, pet safety, and direct pet care. Key Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional pet parent experiences in-person, phone, register, and online; greet customers and prepare pick-up orders.
- Provide pet healthcare for store-owned pets: feed, water, clean habitats (birds, reptiles, small animals, fish), and administer vet-directed medications.
- Maintain store standards: face/fill/recover products, stage new merchandise, handle price changes and promotions.
- Recommend/sell merchandise, services, live pets; promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Ensure safety for associates, pets, parents; respond to sick/injured pets and transport to vet as needed.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required – pet passion is key! We seek strong communicators with schedule flexibility (evenings, weekends, holidays) who stay composed under pressure. Physical demands include standing, lifting 50+ lbs (team lift 100+ lbs), ladder use, and animal handling in a moderate-noise, pet-hair-filled environment. Reasonable accommodations available.
