Role Overview

PetSmart’s Part-Time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) in Lawnside, New Jersey, engages pet parents and pets while upholding our vision, mission, values, and strategy. Share responsibility for store cleanliness, pet safety, and direct pet care. Enjoy flexibility in a dynamic retail environment with evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Essential Physical Demands

Stand, walk, climb ladders, lift up to 50 lbs (team lift 100+ lbs), stoop, kneel, and handle live animals. Exposed to pet hair, moderate noise, and wet environments. Reasonable accommodations for disabilities.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver exceptional pet parent experiences in-person, phone, register, and online. Greet customers, prepare online orders, care for store pets (feeding, cleaning habitats for birds, reptiles, small animals, fish), maintain cleanliness, stock shelves, execute price changes, recommend products/services/pets, promote events, ensure safety, and assist across store areas including services.

Experience & Skills

Entry-level role requiring strong communication, schedule flexibility, composure under pressure, and pet passion. No prior experience needed—training provided. Ideal for animal lovers eager to create moments that matter.
