Role Overview
As a Part-Time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) in our London, Ontario store, you'll engage pet parents and their pets while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, values, and strategy. Share responsibility for store cleanliness, pet safety, and direct pet care to deliver exceptional service.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent experience in person, phone, register, and online; greet and answer questions.
- Prepare online orders and ensure smooth pick-up.
- Provide pet healthcare: feed, water, clean habitats (birds, reptiles, small animals, fish); administer vet-directed medications.
- Maintain cleanliness, handle price changes, stock products, face/fill/recover merchandise.
- Recommend/sell merchandise, services, live pets; promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Ensure safe environment; respond to sick/injured pets, transport to vet if needed.
- Assist across store areas including services; follow all policies.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—pet passion is key! Need strong communication, schedule flexibility (evenings/weekends/holidays), composure under pressure. Physical demands: stand/walk/climb, lift 50 lbs (team lift 100+ lbs), handle animals in moderate noise/wet environments with pet hair.
