Role Overview
As a Part-Time Retail Sales Associate in Manalapan, NJ, you'll deliver outstanding pet parent experiences, care for store pets, and maintain a clean, safe store. This entry-level role offers flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays, with hands-on pet interaction and sales opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional service to pet parents in-person, phone, register, and online; prepare pickup orders.
- Care for store-owned pets: feed, water, clean habitats (birds, reptiles, fish, small animals), administer vet-directed meds.
- Stock shelves, face products, execute price changes, and promote merchandise/services/live pets.
- Maintain store cleanliness and safety; respond to sick/injured pets and transport to vet if needed.
- Promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment; assist across departments as required.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required. We seek pet enthusiasts with strong communication, flexibility, and composure under pressure. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing/walking, ladder use, and exposure to animals, pet hair, and moderate noise. Depth perception and team lifting for heavier items needed.
