Role Overview
As a Part-Time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) in our Manhattan, Kansas store, you'll engage pet parents, care for live pets, and maintain a welcoming store environment. This entry-level role offers flexibility, hands-on pet interaction, and the chance to build retail skills while upholding PetSmart's vision of exceptional pet experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver outstanding pet parent experiences in-person, phone, register, and online order pickups.
- Provide direct care for store pets: feed, water, clean habitats (birds, reptiles, small animals, fish), and administer vet-directed medications.
- Maintain store cleanliness, face/fill products, stage merchandise, and support price changes/promotions.
- Recommend products, services, live pets, and promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Ensure safety for associates, pets, and customers; respond to sick/injured pets and assist across store areas.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required – pet passion is key! We seek strong communicators with schedule flexibility (evenings, weekends, holidays), composure under pressure, and physical stamina to lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders, and handle animals in a dynamic environment with moderate noise and pet hair.
