Role Overview
As a Part-Time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) at PetSmart in Mason, Ohio, you'll engage pet parents, care for store pets, and maintain a welcoming store environment. This entry-level role offers flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays, with opportunities to make a daily impact – from helping choose a first fish to celebrating pet birthdays.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional pet parent experiences in-person, phone, register, and online; greet customers and prepare pick-up orders.
- Provide direct care for store-owned pets: feed, water, clean habitats (birds, reptiles, small animals, fish), and administer vet-directed medications.
- Maintain store cleanliness, face/fill products, stage new merchandise, and support price changes/promotions.
- Recommend products, services, live pets; promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Ensure safety for associates, pets, and customers; respond immediately to sick/injured pets and transport to vet if needed.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required – pet passion is key! We seek strong communicators who thrive under pressure, with flexibility for varied shifts. Physical demands include standing, lifting 50+ lbs (team lift 100+ lbs), climbing ladders, and handling animals in a moderate-noise, pet-hair-filled environment. Reasonable accommodations available.
