Role Overview
Our Part-Time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico, delivers exceptional pet parent experiences while maintaining store standards and providing direct pet care. This entry-level role offers flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays, with opportunities to grow within our dynamic retail environment focused on pet safety, cleanliness, and sales.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent satisfaction through in-person, phone, register, and online interactions, including online order pickups.
- Provide hands-on care for store pets: feeding, watering, cleaning habitats (birds, reptiles, small animals, fish), and administering vet-directed medications.
- Execute merchandising tasks: facing/filling products, staging new items, weekly price changes, and promotional setups.
- Promote products, services, live pets, and events like adoption weekends and Treats enrollment.
- Maintain safety standards, respond to sick/injured pets, and support all store areas including services.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required – just a passion for pets! We seek strong communicators who thrive under pressure, with physical stamina to lift 50 lbs (team lift 100+ lbs), stand/walk extensively, climb ladders, and work in pet-filled environments. Flexibility and composure are key.
