Role Overview
Our Part-Time Retail Sales Associates are the heart of the store, delivering outstanding pet parent experiences, maintaining pet safety standards, and keeping our stores spotless. This entry-level role offers flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays, with hands-on pet care and sales opportunities that make every shift rewarding.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent satisfaction through greetings, question-answering, online order prep, and seamless checkouts.
- Provide direct care for store pets: feed, water, clean habitats (fish, birds, reptiles, small animals), and administer vet-directed meds.
- Execute merchandising tasks like product staging, facing, filling, recovery, price changes, and promotional setups.
- Recommend products, services, live pets, and promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Maintain safety for associates, pets, and customers; respond immediately to sick/injured pets including vet transport.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required – just a pet-loving attitude! We seek strong communicators who thrive in fast-paced environments, handle pressure calmly, and are physically capable of standing, lifting 50+ lbs (team lift 100+ lbs), climbing ladders, and working around live animals in moderate-noise, pet-hair-filled settings. Flexibility is key.
