Role Overview
As a Part-Time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) in Medford, Oregon, you'll engage pet parents and care for store pets while upholding PetSmart's vision. This entry-level role offers flexible hours, perfect for evenings, weekends, and holidays, with hands-on pet care and customer service in a dynamic retail setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional pet parent experiences in-person, phone, register, and online order pickups.
- Provide direct care for store pets: feeding, watering, cleaning habitats (birds, reptiles, fish, small animals), and administering vet-directed medications.
- Maintain store cleanliness, face/fill products, stage new merchandise, and support price changes/promotions.
- Recommend products, services, live pets; promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Ensure safety for associates, pets, and customers; handle sick/injured pets and transport to vet as needed.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—pet passion is key! Need strong communication, flexibility for varied shifts, composure under pressure, and physical stamina (lift 50lbs, climb ladders, handle animals in moderate noise/wet environments). Depth perception and team lifting for heavier items required.
